Harry Jones

The club's full time coach is Harry Jones. Harry has over 50 years of fencing experience and has been a fulltime coach since 1991 for which he has been awarded in 2006 the British Fencing bronze medal for services to the sport.

A very competitive fencer in all three weapons in his time. Harry was himself coached by Allan Skipp, Peter Frolich and Bob Anderson. During his fencing career Harry remained in the top three of his Section in all three weapons for over ten years. He also managed to stay in the top twenty four of British Epeeists for twenty years.

Both his children Karen and Ian fenced to national squad level and fenced in The Student Games, World Youth Championships and World Championships acheving a high ranking at national level.

Harry was trained as a Coach by Allan Skipp, Peter Frolich and Laslo Jacob. Harry is a qualified County Coach in all three weapons (Foil, Epee and Sabre). He also holds NCF certification for teaching children and is a member of the British Fencing Association Coaches Club. Harry has enhanced CRB Disclosure, is First Aid qualified and is a BFA registered professional coach.

In addition to coaching at Wellesbourne, Harry also coaches regularly at Challoners High School, Eton College, Headington School, The Royal Grammar School and Salle Eton.
